It is morning.
Outside a small bakery, the scent of fresh bread fills the air. People come and go, buying what they need and continuing on without a second glance.
But among them is someone whose reality is very different.
An elderly man.
His clothes are worn, his shoes aged by time. He walks slowly, leaning on a cane. Every step is heavy, yet determined.
He is not there to buy anything.
He cannot afford it.
He stops in front of the shop. Hesitates for a moment. His eyes linger on the bread, the fruit, the pastries behind the glass.
He swallows.
Then gathers the courage.
He steps inside.
The shop is simple but tidy. Behind the counter, the shopkeeper arranges goods, not immediately noticing him.
The old man approaches slowly.
